The Speakers
Connie Van Raalte
Human Resources/ Training Lead
Connie spent the last 15 years in onsite human resources and safety management, ensuring the safety and health of individuals in general industry throughout the Mankato, Minnesota, area. She is responsible for managing the OECS Specialized Training Center (STC), offering a variety of in-person and virtual safety classes. She is passionate about helping clients develop and sustain positive work cultures. Connie has her Bachelor of Science in Business Management and Human Resource Management from Minnesota State University and also has her Professional Human Resources (PHR) Accreditation.
Julie Thatcher
Field Safety Associate
Julie joined the OECS team in 2023 as a Field Safety Associate for the Twin Cities Region, servicing clients in Southern Minnesota. She brings more than 20 years of experience as an environmental, health and safety professional and has extensive risk management experience in manufacturing, construction and retail/wholesale industries, as well as a breadth of knowledge relative to safety program development, training, personal protection, OSHA compliance, accident investigation, job hazard analysis, ergonomics and safety committees. Julie holds a Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice from Michigan State University and is an active member of ASSP.
