The Speakers
DuWayne Schmitz
Field Safety Associate
DuWayne started with OECS in 2023 after serving active-duty military in the Minnesota Army National Guard for 34 years. He began his safety career as a Senior Fleet Supervisor for Anderson Trucking Service for 15 years, managing up to 72 over-the-road truckers with safety and DOT regulations. DuWayne then went on to full time active duty in the Minnesota Army National Guard. He served 6 months as an Assessment Specialist and then moved into Station Commander for the St. Cloud National Guard, where he trained and ensured the safety of recruits. After 9 years of service, DuWayne was promoted to First Sergeant and was a Regional Production Leader and Manager. DuWayne has a passion for safety and is excited to continue his service to help organizations build strong safety cultures.
Josh Kozlowski
Field Safety Associate
Josh joined the OECS team in 2024 as a Field Safety Associate for the Twin Cities Region, specializing in construction. Josh has been in the construction industry for over 25 years, where he started as an apprentice. His dedication and passion to learn and develop his craft in the trades allowed him to advance his career to Foreman, Superintendent and Project Manager. Josh holds certifications in OSHA 10 and 30, Forklift and Skid Steer, First Aid/CPR and Asbestos.
